Castle Schloss, Golubinci
The castle was built based on the project of Florian Madocsnui in 1767. It was built for the needs of the border crew of the Military Border, as the Administration Building in Golubinci. The National Library in Berlin keeps a document about Ludwig van Beethoven taken from the genealogy of the captain Carl von Greth. Jeanette d ‘Honrat, the wife of Carl Greth, was the first love of Beethoven. Carl von Greth and Beethoven were acquaintances and rivals in her youth. She was a beautiful, lively blonde of a kind and pleasant mood that enjoyed music and had a pleasant voice. It is not hard to imagine what the impression she left on the sensible and impulsive Ludwig. Still she married the foreseeable captain and young nobleman Carl von Greth in 1788. Beethoven did not forget Jeanette in Vienna, according to the verses he dedicated to her. He devoted his inspiration the verses of Gottfried Bürger on which he wrote the music, and these verses were published a year after she married Carl von Greth. The chosen verses confirmed that Beethoven’s scars were fresh. As a memory of this love, the medallion of Jeanette d ‘Honrath is kept at the Museum of Beethoven in Bonn.
In addition to the architectural value, the castle also has a historical value, since it was the residence of Karađorđe Petrović during 1813. In the years before the First Serbian Uprising, Karađorđe came to Srem several times, fleeing from the Turks. This castle is full of secrets and mysteries, so some call it a pitiful trap. One night, the first owner of the castle suddenly returned after a long journey and found his young wife in the embrace of the servant. He slashed the servant immediately, and tied her completely naked to the north pillar of the castle. After a week, the woman died from cold, thirst and starvation. The first owner of the castle, after the infidelity and death of his wife, stopped eating and drinking, and died in severe pains. In the next two hundred years, the screams of other martyrs mingled with this first. The older locals say that every decade in some windy and drizzling nights in the autumn appear a man dressed in a worn-out noble suit and pray long over a ruined castle. The facility is under the protection of the state and represents a cultural heritage of great importance.
The Lepšanović family barn in Golubinci
It took decades of work for building one richly decorated barn. This was the reason why they were very expensive and a symbol of local prestige. This is illustrated by the example of Lepšanović family barn.Economic building blocks in Pazovačka street 42 in Golubinci that dominate this village yard, was built between 1888 and 1921. The construction was started by Nićifor-Nića (1840-1918) and a handymanPetar Štrapajević in 1888, but his son Boža and a handyman Petar Dešić finished it in 1921. Two generations had been building Lepšanović family barns for 35 years. The barn was 32 meters long. With a smaller number of details and a larger masonry surface, this barn indicates the final phase of merging the accompanying buildings, firstly for commercial and then for residential purposes, illustrating the construction in a row, the rational use of the narrowed courtyard space characteristic of the linear settlement of Srem. The facility is under the protection of the state and represents a cultural heritage of exceptional importance.
The Galečić family barn in Golubinci
A barn in Pazovačka street 64 is one of the most developed and beautiful buildings. It was built in 1913 by a handyman Petar Dešić, who came from the famous handyman family Dešić from Golubinci. It is set on a tall, brick-built base, used for the basement and the chamber, between which the shed is free, with the front side on the street line. The barn was built out of the upright paved planks put in the pillars of the construction, which have a motif of circle with carved oak leaves in the middle. In the extension of the corn barn, above the shed, there is a storage area with a barn and porch enclosed withbattens and cut wooden decorations along the pillars of the porch. Galečić family barn in Golubici is under the protection of the state and represents a cultural heritage of exceptional importance.
A house in Svetosavska street (Menzulana) in Novi Banovci
A house in Svetosavska Street 89 in Novi Banovci was built in the 18th century as a military border building, which was probably a part of the military barracks. It is known as Menzulana – a postal building or a post office. This facility represents an immovable cultural property of great importance. Today, there is a Fish restaurant Priča.
A birthplace of a football national team player Kosta Tomašević in Stari Banovci
A farmhouse in the street Pavla Šašića 99 in Stari Banovci represents the registered immovable property of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments from Sremska Mitrovica and enjoys the prior protection as a building of a national construction. The example of a rich rural household with a preserved large house located on the long side of the street is very interesting. At the back of the house there is a basement, and in the extension of the house there are sheds and stables. The house was owned by the Tomašević family. It is significant because the legendary football shooter of the Red Star,Kosta Tomašević, was born in it on July 25, 1923. He was also one of the founders of the club and a national team player of Yugoslavia.
